Nostalgia Electrics ISM-800 Electric Ice Shaver

I was impressed.
Owned 3 other ice-shavers that never did the job half as well, though they were hand-cranked.
I've made about 20 snow cones during parties so far with this, both with regular ice with syrup and frozen drinks from the mold, both are great.

Pros: Fast, easy, fluffy,
Cons: Lots of sugar added to diet.

J.C. Penney had it on sale for $15, normal price is $20: still worth it.

This might last longer than my previous Ice Shaver made by another popular brand.
I had this only for only 2 weeks, and tried right away after I took it from the shipping box. The previous Ice Shaver made by another US brand (Made in China, too). broke just after 2-years. I tried to fix it but the micro-switch was poorly mounted that it kept breaking. I noticed that the mounting bracket of that one was not so stable. This Nostalgia is not broken yet, that's why I have no heart of opening it at this time to find out...and void the existing warranty. The shaved cube ice of this is perfect for my use...like snowflakes that we Southeast Asians use for homemade fruit cocktails using sweetened coconuts, beans, pop-rice, leche-flan, etc.

I wish this will last longer than my first Ice Shaver; also a US Brand name, but made in China. I might update this review after two years using this one.

better with ice molds than ice cubes
It's an average ice shaver best with the molds provided. With regular ice cubes, it is very coarse. If it wasn't for bigoted offer, I would not have purchased.
