Not for hard water
The Honeywell 330 warm moisture humidifier is built upon a previous model that used pads to trap the minerals contained in tap water. The 330 doesn't have pads, the mineral deposits collect directly on the heating element and you will need to shut the unit down for a day to soak in vinegar so as to disolve SOME of the minerals deposited there. And, if you let the mineral deposit build up too far, the unit will shut off.
Unless Honeywell has had one of those disasters were one of their factories leaked toxic chemicals in to the environment killing thousands of people, then this model "upgrade" would count as one of the stupidest things that they have ever done.

SPT AC-7013 Magic Clean Air Cleaner with Photo-Catalytic Oxidation Device and Ionizer

Sent Mine Back
I wanted a PCO air purifier to have in my office, but this was too rinkydink for my tastes. I has four light-emitting diodes, one in each corner. I've seen small PCO filters that were made for use in a car that used LEDS, but for the space this fan takes up, I think it is way under lit. It seemed to add more odor to the room from its own off-gassing than it cleared up. I ran it for about two hours. It was very quiet on low speed at first, but then it started making a scraping/bearing noise. I sent it back and will try the NanoBreeze next. I don't have anything against Sunpentown. I have a humidifier and a portable air conditioner from them that I am very happy with. The PCO fan was unacceptable.

Expensive fan
I like the design of this product. It is able to swivel from side to side and tilt up and down. It also runs pretty quiet even on high. It comes with an extra long cord. That is about as much positive as I can say about it. I was hoping to clear out some of the musty mildew smell I was greeted with upon moving to my new place. It has made no noticeable difference in the air quality of my apartment. I purchased one for a friend with my order, and he didn't pick his up for a few weeks. So I was running two of these units side by side for a while and still noticed no improvement in air quality. He placed his in a room with a litter box and it seemed to spread the odor around instead of eliminating it. The LED's used to light the grid are very dim. It seems to me that the photo oxidation and ion production is very minimal.

Although it's a real shame that one would have to replace the main computer board in a 3 year old high end appliance, I am glad that I was able to find it on Amazon. Next day shipping with Prime had my fridge back to normal quickly. The part is a direct replacement. Remove a couple screws in the access plate on the back of the fridge, and just remove the wire harnesses from the old board, remove old board, put in new board and replace the harnesses. 5 minute job. The symptoms of my faulty fridge was that display unit in the front of the fridge started acting really goofy. The lights would blink randomly and the water and ice stopped working. I though it was the display board. The next day the fridge stopped cooling and you could hear a relay clicking over and over in the main computer board. 2 months later and everything still working like it did when I bought the unit 3 years ago

Great gift -- for yourself, or someone else
I received this combo as a Christmas gift, and I guess I was skeptical. But after using both parts of the combo several times, I'm sold.

I've always enjoyed the George Foreman grills. When it's too cold out to use a proper BBQ, or you just don't want to take the time, a GF grill is just the ticket. Easy to use, easy to clean, and with its long-lasting non-stick surface, you'll be enjoying it for a long time to come. The jumbo model included with this combo is big enough for the whole family, or allows you to make extra ahead for lunch the next day.

But the real gem is the rotisserie, and is where I was most surprised. If you enjoy whole roast chicken from one of the restaurant chains or your local grocery, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you're able to make it at home -- with the added benefit of controlling everything that goes into it. Simple recipes accompany the appliance, and the results are just delicious.

The rotisserie comes with skewers for ka-bobs, or a basket...

cleaning is a hassle
The price : No complaint, especially the price I paid for last Christmas (2004), 30% less than normal selling price.
The Grill : BBQ is easy and the cooking is faster, so much faster than a charcoal grill.
The Rotisserie : crispy and tasty. My husband loves to make rotisserie or roast pork, and believe it or not, it is excellent.
The cleaning : We both hate it. The cleaning is really a hassle, it is so difficult and it takes so much time, especially the rotisserie. We only used the rotisserie three times since we bought it because none of us wants to do the clean up.

Happy/Unhappy
I give this 3 stars since I have to rate both items together.

First - the grill is wonderful - perfect for 2 people and guest. We use it for our RV. The grill gets 5 Stars.

The rotisserie is not as good. I give it 1 Star. First, it's hard to clean after greese and sauces spaters on it. Second, it doesn't hold a whole chicken of average size - maybe a cornish hen. I bought it for my RV so I could have rotisserie chicken like I do at home.

junk, keep looking
Positive - it runs very smooth and opens beautifully when it works, for maybe 9-12 months, just long enough to get past the warranty. Does open large cans easily, again, when it works. Negatives -must be more plastic gears, it works great but will not shut off even after can is removed. You have to unplug and wait. Very annoying when making a large pot of chili, etc., when there are 8-10 cans to be opened. Also, will not open, it NEVER did, small cans of tomato paste, I have to get out the crank opener. The small can just will not puncture and turn. Would NOT purchase again, would not recommend.

Waste of Money!
Cheap, cheap, cheap!!! The magnet won't stay on the opener and I end up with both it and the top INSIDE the can of food. Huh? Also won't stop running sometimes, even after the can is opened. Don't waste your money....

The Bad Black Beast!
I absolutely hate this beast in my kitchen! So why have I put up with it for over two years? I need to have my head examined! I'm getting better though, as I'm on Amazon tonight browsing for a new can opener, and you can be sure it won't be another Black and Decker. I think they should stick to making tools for the handyman and forget appliances. We had a B &D toaster oven several years back that performed almost as miserably as this can opener.

On the positive side it does have a nice sleek design and looks good on the kitchen counter. The knife sharpener is a good feature and does work. The "one touch" idea would be great if only the can would stay in the cutter. Ditto for the "tall can" idea. Great, but the cans keep falling out. Very few cans of any size have ever stayed in and gone completely around. In order to even start, one must peel the label from the can first or it gets chewed up and causes a wad of paper at the cutter which in turn also causes the can to slip...

WONERFUL!!
This is a great fan! My wife and I were looking to update our living room fan, but we really needed a low profile because I am tall; the old fan was so low that I hit my head on the lights. We bought this fan because it was low profile and had not lights, so it surprised us that the box came with lights. We installed the fan without the lights but have stored the lights to add if we ever sell the house.

The installation was a breezy (pun intended)! If you already have a ceiling fan then you have 3/4 of the work done. It really is very easy! Cut the power to the old fan, remove the blades from the old fan, remove the cover, remove the old fan, then reverse with the new one. If you have any questions about installation, feel free to do the "Ask A Question" option through Amazon, as all reviewers receive an email notifying them of the question. Trust me, even if you have limited handyman skills...this is something you could possibly tackle.

Waring 501859 Blender Cutting Assembly

blender cutting assembly weak
Had 2 of them break!. Amazon was very gracious about replacing but I think Waring has some work to do on the cutting assembly. I honestly love the blender if the blade was more dependable. I did end up calling Waring direct and they sent a new blade that seems to be more sturdy. The part that connects to the blender base is different than the two I received from Amazon. Still enjoying using my blender multiple times a day and am trying to be easy on it so I don't have another broken cutter assembly on my hands. I guess if it breaks again I will have to let go and move on. I think this is a great product and would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the weakness in the cutter blade. Maybe there is a way to know when they upgraded the assembly and make sure that's the model/yr you get?

Makes lots of noise, doesn't blend well, impossible to return!
Wow! I can't believe this thing ever received a positive review. First problem was that it sounds like a jet engine on takeoff obviously not meshing with the blender well or just poor quality. Second thing I noticed was the lack of blending when actual items were placed into the liquid (fruit etc,) I have a functioning blender with a cutter that works currently but for hygenic reasons like to replace it every now and then. This replacement wasn't the right choice obviously. Third thing and most frustrating was the return policy for this seller (or lack therof) It would cost me to ship it back (understood) but the seller would deduct a shipping amount for outgoing shipping that would make it impossible to return without it actually costing me more money than the item itself. It came to me "free shipping" but the seller has a dollar amount that that "free shipping" is when you go to return the item. Sorry to see this on Amazon, one of my go-to resources on the interwebs.

Identical to the original part. works well. I can now make smoothies again. I almost bought an expensive new blender but saved hundreds of dollars by replacing the cutting assembly.

George Foreman GR2121P 8-Serving Classic Plate Grill with Variable Temperature

I love this thing
The surface is large compared to my last two grills so that is a plus. I've only used it to reheat already cooked food until now. My first experience with raw food (bacon) is wholly insufficient. Breakfast is gonna take while. I have the temperature maxed out and it doesn't cook as quickly as my previous grill. Additionally, they didn't include one of those crappy little spatulas with it. Come on guys, what does it cost to include a little piece of molded plastic, maybe twelve cents? That's just wrong. Crappy little spatulas are iconic to the George Foreman grill brand. Fortunately I still have a couple of them from my previous grills.

On the plus side, the nonstick surface cleans up really easily. Just heat it up a bit and sprinkle some water on it with your fingers and it wipes down very nicely with a paper towel. I guess I didn't realize I had totally used up my last grill because I had scrub a bit to get it semi-clean. I guess we had eaten all the nonstick...

Easy Grind Handy Revolver Bullet Cylinder Design Metal Spice Herb Mini Grinder Pollen w Gift Box

LOVE IT
This is my little buddy. I had to take the screen out of it, as it got little bits stuck inbetween it and the grinder part. The bottom comes off easily and even after a year still works like new. Metal is always the way to go when it comes to grinders, rarely do the tines break off. Other than that I use it for a wide variety of whole herbs and even tobacco :)

A good sense of humor needed!
My friend has just started cooking and getting into spices and herbs. He also happens to love guns. So when I saw this I thought of him and bought it as a gift. Turns out it's not an herb grinder, it's an HERB grinder...LOL. Good thing he has a sense of humor :-)

Screen broken
Ordered as a gift for a gun and "spice" lover I know but the screen was broken right out of the bag it came in. He said he could replace it and it wasn't a big deal, but I felt bad giving a broken gift.

I received this as a gift for Xmas. This thing really juices fast . I like the large opening so I don't have to do much prep. It zips through carrots and such hard veggies with ease . I would recommend this to anyone trying to eat a little healthier.

A Great Juicer!
Loved the movie, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" and the idea of juice fasting to detox and regular continued juicing to become healthier and lose a few pounds. It's easier than I thought it would be; now I can't live without my daily concoctions of veggie and fruit juice! This machine makes it easy and is actually fun to use! Clean up is simple since the pulp rinses off easily from the stainless steel. The screen of the blade basket takes a little effort to clean with the wire brush that is provided, but once I refined my technique it's now a snap. This is a well made and quality product.

Very efficient and easy to clean...
After careful evaluation of many different juicers, I chose this one. I'm very happy with my choice. Definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an excellent juicer.

Great for the price
I was a bit skeptical about buying this because it seemed to be such a low price for this type of grinder. After reading reviews for some of this brand's other products I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because this is a very nice grinder overall. It has a solid feel to it and the crank turns very easily but still grinds the herb just right. Even if I cram it full I only need a couple turns and the crank starts turning smoothly again. The only problem with it is the magnet on the top piece. It is just not even close to strong enough to hold the top on. Even turning it upside down can make it fall off. This means you have to hold the top on while grinding your herb. But this grinder is still so much better quality than I would expect for the price that I have to give it 5 stars even with the magnet problem.
I am writing this review only a couple days after receiving it, so I'll update if I ever have any issues down the line.

Spice Grinder
I like to show it off. The quality is excellent, the machining of the aluminum is very precise, and the quality of the grind is nice and fluffy. It's a perfect addition to my kitchen tools. Use just enough spice in the grinder, or you'll have a hard time turning the mill handle. Don't include thick stems, and you won't have to worry about the grinding teeth breaking like the plastic ones. You will eventually learn how much spice to put in for grinding. I don't know how I got along without it.

Fantastic Grinder!!
Doesn't matter what you put in it, comes out ready to smoke. Or eat. Really to do whatever with, but it's well ground up, and that's the point.

The real deal!
It arrived 3 days after i ordered it, opened the package and i was expecting something similer to spacecase's scout grinder but no it was a full sized grinder. I've used it for a couple days and i love it, so far so good.

Beautifully engineered grinder that works perfectly for it's intended use. I'll start from the top down. The four pieces fit together as perfect as the eye can see. The top cover has nicely cut teeth, strong magnet, and a black teflon ring to ease the turning. The second compartment has just as nicely cut teeth and large holes for the spice drop. The third compartment (the catcher) is more than 3/4" deep due to the ingenious design of the side wall that rises way past the thread. This prevents any spices from ending up on the threads when accessing them. It has a large smooth thread which should help against cross threading (which is a common occurrence on aluminum to aluminum threads). The s.s. mesh screen is clean and high quality, and the pollen catch is about 1/4" deep with the same thread design as the above compartment. This is a fantastic purchase, worth every penny. I'm glad I spent the extra cash and got an all aluminum/s.s. design instead of the cheap chrome plated...

Rival CKRVSTLM21 Food Steamer, White

Great for the price
I bought this at Walmart a few years ago to replace another similar model from another company. Like a prior reviewer I also spent $19.99 + tax for it. I use it to make rice, cook potatoes, cook eggs, and warm left overs. It beats the hell out of my mom's generation of a bamboo steamer over a pot contraption, while this may only last a few years it saves so much in labor, electricity, and space that it's worth it. My mistake of the time was not buying two more as backups and so I can stack the rings on top of one another to cook more things at once.

Positives were that it's cheap, makes steam quickly, easy clean up (just drain water and rinse the other parts), quick dial to set it and forget it (like another brand's infomercial), and it's is the best way to warm up day old pastries.

My complaints about this model vs the prior brand (can't remember the brand) is that it's sections are not as high, wide, and doesn't have it clear window that allows you to see...

Makes my cooking much more easy!
I bought mine about a year ago... and use it an average of 3-4 times a week.
It's so easy to just put all vegetables in it(whole or cut in pieces), turn on and forget until diner time! You name it: ears of corn, potatoes, carrots, all kind of squash, etc. Veggies ready every night. I cook for a family of 3, but you could have veggies enough for a family up to 6. When more is needed, I just fill it twice! Ha, ha!
The plastic pieces look fragile, but they are good enough for what intended to. To clean I just put everything in the dishwasher (except the electric base of course!)and never had a problem.
You could find another steamers with better characteristics, but if you don't want to spend a lot of money like me... this is the model you need.

Works Great!
Purchased mine at Walmart as it was only $19.88, almost $10 cheaper, plus the $10+ shipping cost here was a bit much.
The steamer works like it should. Just put your food in the steamer, set the timer and wait till it goes off. I did find that I needed a little more time than suggested for certain foods, but other than that the steamer works great.

Excellent Coffee Brewer - just know that it is 2/3 the capacity of typical "US" brewers
I purchased this Technivorm coffee maker (the silver version) about a year and a half ago after poor experience with KitchenAid pro-series units (which are no longer offered). Researching coffee makers on-line led to several reviews where this product was praised for brewing coffee at the correct temperature, in accordance with certification standards of some sort, and lots of other gushing about how great it is. I just wanted a good quality, reliable machine to brew good coffee, and I don't want to have to replace it every 2 years.

The coffee quality is excellent and I suppose that has something to do with the temperature of the water, which is stated to be just under boiling (200 degrees F). The lid of the coffee pot incorporates a hollow mixing tube that is intended to ensure that the coffee mixes as it drips into the pot, to avoid stratification. it brews almost silently and is very quick. This all works perfectly and without any fuss whatsoever.

Dutch brewer makes great coffee simply and with great consistency
Owning this is like owning a 1962 Porsche. It is so simple you know how it all works just by looking at the thing. It does one task beautifully and in a vast field with few peers. It makes a great cup of drip coffee with no pretense. The Dutch like their coffee brewed warmer than Americans do, and that process releases more flavor with less bitterness.

Worth every cent!!! You will not regret the investment if you love great coffee.
I love this machine!!! The only problem is now Starbucks and Caribou drive up window coffee is nearly undrinkable for me after becoming spoiled with the wonderful coffee my Moccamaster consistantly brews.

Waring Commercial CAC35 Complete Stainless Steel Container with Blade and Lid, 32-Ounce

Can't live without this blender
Love this blender.... My father gave me the original for a birthday present several years ago. After much use and many protein milkshakes (a few margaritas too), the mechanism in the jar became extremely tight....and would freeze up regularly. We tried repairing but taking this thing apart is not for the mechanically challenged. We hesitated spending this much just for the jar portion but the motor portion of the blender was still running like a champ. I bit the bullet and ordered anyway. Since we haven't tried any other blenders in the past 5-6 years and while we were waiting for this jar to arrive, we purchased a few different brands in the $80-$100 range to test them out. What a joke!!! Even though they say they crush ice....THEY DON'T!!! Even the ones with the "ice crusher" mode.....BULL!!! Returned these other blenders quickly and just waited for the waring replacement jar to arrive. Such a difference......will never worry about the price again. It does what it's...

No more chipping on the granite countertop!
I was afraid this container would not fit my old Waring base (model 51BL26), but with a little "push" down, it works just fine. I no longer have to worry about chipping the rim, as I did with my glass container. The size is smaller, but it holds two "smoothies" perfectly, which I make every single day. I am more careful about cleaning this product. No more in the dishwasher. I rinse it out immediately after using, and it is ready for the next day.

And a free lid!
We had to hunt around the eating website tomake sure this was the right replacement part. But it is! The stainless steel is shiny and the blades are sharp. And it even included a new lid, which I didn't expect.

Adcraft MC-7 30 oz Stainless Steel Malt Cup with Mirror Finish

Well Worth the Price
Not much to say about a product with no moving parts. Its stainless and sturdy. No signs of rust with daily washing and drying for several weeks now. I do want to state that as a precaution I always thoroughly dry this after cleaning it so there is no water left on the surface to even start rust. I use it in conjunction with a stick blender and it makes up one half of a perfect relationship. If you need a mixing cup this won't let you down.

False advertisement, NOT made in USA!
Seemingly good quality, however this brand markets these malt cups as Made in USA. They are not, as indicated by the "Made in India" sticker. Seems to be of ok quality...time will tell.

Just what I wanted.
It's a good size and a very good price. And can be handy for mixing things like fruit drinks or milkshakes.

This $20 water heater has the ability to bring water from tap water cold to boiling hot in about 90 seconds! All you do is lift the lid, pour in a cup water, and press the the front tip of the triangular button on the top...and ...90 seconds later you have boiling hot water. Just make sure that if you use an extension that the cord is labeled Major Apliance

Rival 91V Ice Cream Mix

Creamy, consistent results
Have used this product for a couple of years now, gets harder to find at the store so have turned to ordering over the internet. When used with fat-free half-and-half makes a creamy, smooth ice cream everyone has enjoyed. Easy to add fruit to and combines well during mixing. The texture of the end product is so rich, no one has guessed I'm using fat-free additives either!

I used this over then weekend for a kid's chemistry project. He had to make homemade ice cream. So, I gave him this. We doubled the recipe to make a gallon. It was very good. I like to make my own normally but this is better. There was no waxy feeling on the roof of my mouth like a lot of homemade ice creams have. It was smooth, creamy and tasteful. We had used 2% milk, half-and-half, and heavy cream.

this item is so fun for kids and couch potatoes who love to watch basketball or football. its quirky but fun!

Not really worth it
I thought this would be a fun gift for my husband, who LOVES popcorn, but it's pretty flimsy and oddly shaped. The bowl itself is fine, but because of the shape, it's difficult to clean and store. The cup holder/remote holder does no good at all, the basketball hoop really isn't that fun either, it is too flimsy.

Oenophilia Vinomatico Rechargeable Corkscrew

Surprised at how much I love this!
I received my Vinomatic (love that name!) several months ago as a gift and thought "how nice, probably won't use it too much." Was I wrong...I use it every time I open a bottle of wine and it opens bottles beautifully. I've always used a waiter's corkscrew and found that very easy to use. But this is easier (and more fun). Also, people tend to gather 'round to watch. Two of my friends have purchased as gifts for their spouses. Compared to the bulkier (cheaper) ones, this is a pretty narrow profile on the counter so I have it out all the time. I've opened natural and synthetic corks and it has never failed to open a bottle perfectly. Now ordering another one as a gift.

great electric corkscrew
Opened about ten bolltes of wine so far,everyone open perfectly. I'm very happy..with my Vinomatico rechargeable electric corkscrew.

Definitely does the job
If you want an electric corkscrew, then it's worth the money to get this one. Very efficient even with synthetic corks. Most importantly, the cork release works as expected. This is one of the shortcomings of less expensive electric corkscrews.

Updated -- Best of the bunch but high priced
After my Cuisinart DCC-1200 nearly caught on fire after brewing a pot of coffee, I searched Amazon for a coffee maker with the highest ratings. Bonavita appeared to be THE coffee maker to get. I thought that it was pricey, but I sprung the 169.95 to purchase the BV1800TH.

Pros
This maker brews hot coffee with temps between 195-205 degrees as published by the National Coffee Association.
Clear reservoir--easy to fill and see the 8cup mark

Cons
Zero features--I knew this going in that it would be a minimalist coffee maker
Thermos--it gets warm on the outside, which means that it only keeps the coffee warm for a couple of hours
Coffee doesn't taste any better than with my fire hazard Cuisinart

Conclusion -- I recommend that you find a lower priced coffee maker.

Makes a very good cup of coffiee.
I bought one last year for the house and just bought a second for our camper. Works quickly in about 6 minutes and makes a smooth cup of coffee. I tried a few types of coffee, but just use store bought Folgers breakfast blend at 3-4 scoops for a smooth cut of coffee. No added features. I fill with water the night before, get up and load with filter and coffee, and when I am done in the bathroom, so is my coffee.

We love it
The Bonavita BV1800TH is exactly what I was looking for. Makes excellent coffee quickly. We love it and recommend it highly.

Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme Breadmaker Bakers Bundle

More than a bread maker
This thing is truly a machine, not just a bread maker. I am making gluten free breads in this machine and it has customizable settings that allow me to cook this type of bread easily. You can make breads, meat loafs, cakes and more in this well made piece of equipment and I am impressed with the craftsmanship of this product. If you are going to make an investment in a good quality, beautiful piece of equipment for your kitchen, this is the way to go.

On a side note, the accessories that come with are not really the best quality. The oven mit is nice but the cups and spoons are not a good metal. They are not Zojirushi's product just for the record so I would suggest just buying the machine.

Excellent bread maker
The breadmaker is awesome. Only imperfection is with smaller loaves, if you don't watch the end of the last kneading cycle, the dough may not be centered and you end up with a lopsided loaf. Minor as the bread still comes out tasting fine. We have stopped buying sandwich bread at the store. We bought a good breadmaker cookbook (Hensperger) and would recommend that as a must have because the breadmaker instructions only include a handful of recipies (the Italian Herb recipie in the cookbook is one of our favorites - we leave out the herbs for a basic Italian white bread).

This is a great breadmaker. First loaf made was perfect. Texture, color, taste, ease to make-it couldn't be any easier. We have made 10-12 loafs so far and they all have come out perfect. Timer works great. Minimal cleanup time. Well worth the price.

Silversmithing Pickle Pot
It is just the right size for a pickle pot - the only problem is that it gets a little too hot and will cause the pickle to boil if you don't watch it. Its not something that you can turn on in the morning and off at night - otherwise I would have given it a 5 for convenience.

Perfect little warmer
I purchased this warmer for the use of potpourri. It works like a charm! The crock removes for easy cleanup of anything you put in the warmer. It is small and goes anywhere. Also, the power cord it fairly long, so it reaches nicely when I had it on an end table for my purposes. Great little product for the price.

Not good with chocolate...
This product was purchased for the melting of chocolate to use with candy molds, but it no sooner melted the chocolate than it began to burn the bottom of it... even with regular stirring. I was hoping for something that would keep it at temperature for ease with pouring, but this product was not suited for that purpose. For the same cost, I might have purchased an inexpensive double boiler.

Calphalon Electric Extra Large Digital Deep Fryer

Cracked our Silestone Countertop
We hate to have to write this review, we really do but feel we need to share our experience with this fryer. We bought this fryer after using it at a friends house to make lumpia (which it works great for BTW). We cooked the lumpia at 350 degrees and everything was fine. After seeing how well it worked for our friends we ordered one. When it arrived we set it up according to instructions and used it to cook with and everything was fine. When we first used it, on a Friday, we also cooked it at 350 degrees and everything was fine. We left the fryer on the counter top overnight because we knew we would be using it again on Saturday. The food we were cooking on Saturday needed to be cooked at 375 so that's the temperature we set the fryer to. We were cooking several batches of food and estimate after 25-30 minutes we heard a LOUD popping sound coming from where the fryer was sitting on the counter top. When we checked we observed a crack running from where the fryer was sitting to the...

Can't keep it plugged in
We bought this to do our fried fishes for our traditional Christmas dinner. It is well made and worked very well EXCEPT for the safety magnetic plug. Not only have they made this thing child proof, it is unusable even for adults. We made it through the fish frying by duct tapeing the plug into the back of the unit. We are going to return it and buy a Presto. BAD BAD design.

Good design but it malfunctioned out of the box
On first use I set the temp to 375. Fortyfive minutes later it was still preheating. I fried what I needed to fry anyway. I found that cooking-wise this fryer works great. Its design is very cook-friendly. But with a malfunctioning temperature control, it's going back. One more complaint, the instructioms are not well written. It took longer than it should have to assemble. Some close-up diagrams or photos would help. Maybe i'll exchange and try again.

CellarPro® 1800XT Wine Cellar Cooling Unit

Replaced Wine enthusiast Grand Cru 800 with CellarPro 1800XT
I recently replaced the cooling unit in my BYO wine cabinet with the CellarPro 1800XT. The cooling unit the cabinet came with is the wine enthusiast Grand Cru 800. The Grand Cru has a very poor design, I had to make modifications to the cool air output to get it to work correctly from the beginning. After about a year and a half the Grand Cru colling unit stopped being able to cool the cabinet, and started freezing up. I thought this was due to some unusual amount of humidity, but it was not. I aired out the cabinet for about a month to see if that would reduce any built up humidity. The cooling unit just would not work. I have no idea what happened to it, I suspect it developed a leak in the cooling system, the fans and compressor still turned on.

Anyway the CellarPro unit is very well designed! They have taken a pretty simple device and made some nice improvements / features that work well. It was able to bring my cabinet down to 58 degrees F in about 15 min from...

I have had the CellarPro 1800XT installed for about 4 months now. Initially it seemed to be running quite a bit. I called the company and one of the owners answered and gave me tons of advice. Wow. Talk about customer support.

CellarPro
The CellarPro is flat out AWESOME.

I just replaced my cooling unit on a BYO wine cabinet with the CellarPro. The original cooling unit that came with the cabinet worked for less than 2 years, ran all the time and had big temperature swings. After the unit quit working, I called the company where I purchased the wine cabinet and they recommended the CellarPro. The CellarPro was quite expensive relative to what I paid for the wine cabinet, but now I guess I know why.

Installing the CellarPro was fairly easy with the correct tools, jigsaw and drill, but I suggest you take your time insulating around the unit to make sure you get a good airtight seal. So here is the best part about the CellarPro...In a cabinet environment like mine this thing hardly runs. Seriously. Dualit Professional Mini Oven

Very disappointing.
I have a Dualit Classic Toaster. It's built like a tank-- good fit and finish with quality materials.

This Dualit Mini Oven is nothing like the Classic Toaster.

It feels/looks very cheap and lightweight. The door is flimsy. The sheet metal case is very shiny and wafer thin-- flexing easily.

Materials, fit and finish are generally disappointing-- sharp unfinished edges, cock-eyed screws, misaligned panels etc

Very poor quality for a $250 toaster oven. Looks more like a $30 oven

If you are expecting the same build quality as the Dualit Classic Toaster [and at this price/$250, I think that's reasonable] it is very disappointing

Dualit Mini Oven Quality
I recently ordered and received a Duolit Mini Oven. This is my second Duolit oven, my earlier unit is about five years old and I am pleased with it. I ordered this new Duolit for my mother who has eyesight issues and not adept with push-button digital electronic controls. I chose a Duolit because it has simple control knobs appropriate for a mini-oven (toaster oven). The oven received is their "new" model. I find its sheet metal work inferior to the one I have in use. The control knobs no longer use text and they are no longer marked with high contrast labels. Instead, Duolit has chosen icons and the markings are of lower contrast. Given the hefty price over other toaster-ovens I expected better exterior cabinetry. The new knobs are not useful with people with low vision. It seems Duolit has followed the maxim, "if it ain't broke, fix it till it is".

A brand new Dualit Pro Oven
We decided to replace our $250 Breville oven that died in less than 6 month and Breville refused to honor their 1 year warranty, leaving us without an oven and $250 less. The replacement arrived yesterday and my wife wiped it gently before it's 1st use. That caused one of silicone bumpers on the inside of door to pop out and disappear somewhere in our kitchen. By the way, brilliant engineers at Dualit (England) still not aware of these bumpers that were designed to soften door closure. How do I know that? I wrote 2 emails to Dualit and they were not able to "find" these inserts. But wait, it gets better! The tiny graphic icons on middle knob (4) require a help from the manual. No way a consumer can figure out 2 out 4 symbols without reaching for the clue book. Then there's the Timer knob. It starts with 30 min. after 0. I re-read the manual a few times to figure out how to toast a slice of bread. They recommend the highest temp. setting and the highest shelf position. There's no hint...

The Ultimate Edge Model 10NC Coarse Diamond Sharpening Steel

Great sharpener
I am fanatical about keeping my knives sharp and have purchased countless sharpeners. This one is my favorite. A few swipes really defines the edge of my knives and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to keep their knives razor sharp.

Works
After years of using my Chicago Cutlery sharpening steel I just couldn't keep a good edge on the knives any more. This sharpener quickly got the knives back in shape to where I can just dress them with the steel again. The abrasive is adhered to a ferrous material so I can hang it on my magnetic knife holder. I wouldn't use this as my only sharpener - you really want to finish with a finer grit.

Model 10NC sharpening steel review
I use it regularly. It is everything I expected. The shape makes it easy to work on almost any blade I have tried The coarse cutting is very good and quick for getting a dull or damaged blade ready for the final fine sharpening steel. I can highly recommend.

Rival FD300D 3-Quart Fondue Pot, Black

Ten years of regular fonduing...
My husband and I received two of these pots in February 2002 for our wedding shower. Yes, we had actually registered for them - we love to fondue. We're coming up on 10 years of use of the same two pots we were given at our shower, and they are still going strong. Notice that I am posting this review on New Year's Eve 2011/2012 - we just used them again for an afternoon fondue.

I'd say we use these at least monthly, sometimes more frequently. They are useful for so many things beyond just fondue, even as a small deep fryer. I've used them as a backup for my two crock pots when serving a buffet - they're great for keeping soups, sauces and such nice and warm during a lengthy serving time. I've used them to serve Italian Beef & au jus, warm apple sauce, warm appetizer dips, etc. They'll keep these foods warm for hours without burning.

I know a few reviews have mentioned the cord - both the length and the break-away safety feature. A few thoughts on this:...

Quick and easy
This pot is great for making quick fondue. Unfortunately, it comes with a really short cord. I have to use an extension cord to set it on the table. Also, it seems to be either too hot or not hot enough. On the plus side, I have washed it in the dishwasher a bunch of times with not a single problem. I make a lot of fondue & it has been very reliable. It's good when you want to make a quick fondue dinner & not have to deal w/the fuel pots and all the irritation that goes along with that. I like this pot overall. Great bargain, too!

the best pot I have
This Rival fondue pot is the best. (I have 4) I have tried others and ended up giving them away. We use beef or chicken stock and it heats up quickly and stays hot with all the meat laden forks in. We are a family of six so I use 2 for meat, 1 for cheese, and 1 for chocolate.

Oster 083422-040-000 Blender Gasket

Excellent replacement ring
Okay, it is what it is...a little rubber ring for my blender. I wanted to review it positively though because it was sent promptly at a good price and works perfectly :)

Just ok - useable, but I won't say I like it
I ordered this to replace a ring that was not placed correctly into the blender and so got chopped.

The ring I received did not look exactly like the one it replaced, nor the one in the photo. The outside diameter is slightly smaller, and the inside diameter is slightly larger. It may be slightly thinner as well. Yes, it does fit, and no, it does not leak. However, it is less rigid, and therefore, a bit trickier to get exactly in place to prevent leakage, so it takes a bit more time to get it right. More importantly, there is greater risk of it getting chopped like the one it is to be replace because it is easier to get it in not exactly right. Pfff.

Reducing the outside diameter, increasing the inside diameter, and making it thinner all have the result of slightly reducing the amount of rubber used to produce the ring. In other words, it is perhaps a penny or two cheaper to produce, and that matters in large scale. Accordingly, it is lower in quality. I...

Quality of the rubber is bad
I ordered four of these blender Gaskets. The quality of the rubber is substandard and easily torn. Also the width of the Gaskets is a little too wide compared to the original gasket that came along when I purchased the blender.

Champion Screen - Small - White - Champion Juicer Screen

Exactly what I wanted.
Hard a h*[[ to install so I'm not inclined to remove it to clean it, but it's exactly what it's supposed to be. I use the sprayer on the sink to clean it and that seems to be working fine with a little added elbow grease. Anyway, good service and a fair price; what more could I want!?!?

Great Quality
Love this grill! Quality made, looks and cooks beautifully. Only negative is we wish the cord were longer as it is placed on our table to share in the cooking. This shorter cord limits where we can put it.

Love that Raclette
We wanted a raclette maker after having raclette with friends in France. Our web search turned up several. We were tempted by the ones with granite tops, but opted for the Swissmar (competitive price, looked good on the web) with the iron grill top. Instead of just boiled potatoes, we had our raclette with roasted veggies (potatoes, tiny squash, tiny eggplant, little onions) and it was spectacular. We actually found raclette cheese at a local gourmet market, and used that and morbier. Wonderful meal, and having tried it ourselves we now want to invite friends and do dinner parties with it. Heats quickly, melts the cheese quickly. Only drawback is the inner plates melt faster than the outers - this is a negative only if you have 8 people. If you have only 4, give each an inner and an outer and they can pace their cheese melting and it turns into as asset! We're happy with our selection of the Swisssmar.

Griddle
We are very satisfied with the griddle. It is large enough for big meals. We never have anything that sticks to it while cooking. It is easy to clean.

Smart Planet The Original Burger Factory

Fastest Burger Maker
To be honest, nothing beats a grilled burger. But, I work long hours and I was looking for some alternative to frozen meals.

Years ago I had a similar item, only it was a single burger cooker. I loved that thing to death, wore it out. I wanted to give this one a try. The two burger cooker looked ideal for a meal for my wife and I.

I ordered this through Amazon and it arrived in perfect condition, very satisfied with the shipping speed.

First, the cons: In my opinion it could stand a bit of beefing up on the handle latch, I needed to modify it by squeezing it to tighten it up, kept falling off. The hinge part is a little flaky, but I can, and will, live with that. The non stick is a bit more sticky than I like, though I did not use cooking spray.

Pros: Fast? I like my burgers well done. To get that well done burger it took me nine minutes. 5 minutes to preheat and 4 minutes cook time, the manual says 3 1/2 minutes cook time. Fast enough for...

Almost as good as the one I had in college
I had a single burger maker in college that was amazing and started to look for another. I found this, it has only one side that heats up, you can use it as a griddle, cook two regular burgers or a group of sliders which I'll never use. But it does a great job with the two burgers. It's a quick, satisfying way to get a quick homemade burger in a very, very short time. Easy clean up as well. If it heated on both sides it would be perfect, but it comes awfully close to my old favorite from the 1970's.

BELLA 13606 12-Piece Rocket Blender, White

Awesome buy!
This blender is an awesome alternative to the more expensive "Magic Bullet", which, quite frankly, is not any better than this one. I compared this to my friends bullet and couldn't tell the difference. I would definately recommend buying this blender, you wont be disappointed.

I have purchased several of these blenders and agree there is no difference except an inflated price than the popular Bullet Blender. I have had mine long enough to need to replace the rubber ring seal and they sent me a new one FREE OF CHARGE. I give these as gifts to college students as they make quick easy meals! I'm sure this blender works just fine for smoothies and such, but it highlights on the package that is chops, blends, and grinds. More like pulverizes only. I got this as a Christmas present instead of the Ninja system like I wanted, for the purpose of food processing and blending. Two functions, one appliance; sounds wonderful. Nope. The bella is only good for blending. That's it. I'm returning mine to get the Ninja.

Great Grinder!
First, I had been searching for a heavy duty meat grinder for my son for Christmas. I knew that Weston products were very well made because I bought a sealer last year and was impressed with the quality of the product. So that being said, I looked on Amazon to see if they had Weston products. I found this meat grinder. It looked to be exactly what I was looking for so I purchased for my son. Let me tell you when this thing arrived in 2 days I was extremely pleased with the quality, construction and appearance of this product. It was heavy and packaged very well. I ran 25# of hog meat through it and compared to the old way with my kitchen aid mixer grinder; phew...no comparison. This puppy didn't miss a beat even on the toughest cuts. Can't wait to make the Italian sausage with it!

Cineplex-4 Popcorn Machine (Red, 4-Ounce)

Wonderful popcorn maker for large family
We just love this machine! We buy large containers of Orville Redenbacher popcorn from Costco (but I would think any will do) and use grapeseed oil and our own salt and it makes perfect popcorn! We were concerned about what was in the premade bags, so we came up with a viable substitute. We pour in approximatly 1/6 cup of grapeseed oil, then add 1/2 cup popcorn with about 1/8th teaspoon of salt. We can make one batch after another this way, just waiting for the popper to finish and start another batch. The light and warmer keep the popcorn warm for a long time. This is great for movie and popcorn lovers like us. clean-up is a bit involved, but with a vacuum handy it helps (especially in this family with what happens to the floor when we eat popcorn!) You simply wipe out the popper with a clean cloth, and wipe out the rest with a damp cloth followed by a dry one. It has a tray in the bottom to catch unpopped kernals. Hope this helps and enjoy!

Well made, nice fit and finish. Works as advertised, popping a high percentage and easy to clean. A little loud though, so if this is in our near a home theatre you will want the popping done prior to show time.

Healthnuts - Schmitt 5L Gairtopf German Fermenting Crock Pot - ME3205

Really Great Crock
My grandparents made fermented veg of all forms when I was a kid, they had several huge crocks and a big basement to keep stuff in. Recently I had a guy on my podcast talking about making sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables. I realized a few things...

1. I missed this stuff

2. My grandparents crocks were too big for a household with two people and no basement

3. I wanted something like they had

So I found this one and noticed it included stones with it. I have my first batch going now, cabbage, apples, carrots and caraway seeds. I sampled some at 4 days in, just beginning to get tangy but I can tell it is going to be awesome. I am now looking into fermented hot sauce and trying to recreate my Grandmothers Chow Chow. I was actually here to buy a two more of them but they are currently out of stock. I would like to have two to three going with different stuff at all times from now on.

Great Little Pot Thats Easy To Use
I bought this crock pot because it was German made. I also wanted to be able to ferment vegetables easier than putting the vegetables in mason jars. With mason jars, you have to release the gases each day and then they leak and its a real mess and pain in the neck. With this crock pot, I put all the vegetables I was fermenting in at once and put on the stones for weight (stones come with the crock which is more sanitary than using rocks) and then when the lid is on there is a trough for water to seal the crock and make it air tight.

I did not have to check it until 9 days later when I opened it to find that all my vegetables had fermented well without any mold, etc. I love this crock pot!!! It holds about 2-3 very large heads of cabbage at a time which is enough for my husband and myself. I actually prefer to ferment smaller quantities because I am always trying a different recipe with different vegetables. This 5L crock is large enough for the two of us plus I am always...

Works Great
This crock works great for fermenting foods and the size is just right for me. The trough lip on the crock (when scrupulously kept filled with water) keeps the yeast and molds out of the batch and results in a much cleaner fermentation than all other methods that I've tried. My sauerkraut batches are normally 12-13 lbs of shredded cabbage which ferment for 6 weeks, and one batch is ready as the previous batch is exhausted so I'm in continuous production.

The Schmitt comes with the stones (which the competitors all charge more for) which are mandatory for keeping the cabbage submerged, and yet the price is cheaper that the competitors' prices. I'd say it's a best buy.

NapaStyle Italian Tomato Press

Not what I hoped for
I bought and used this Tomato Press and certainly didn't get the results they show in the photograph. Instead this Tomato press wasted a majority of the tomato (it separated much more than just skin and seeds), all that came down the slide was liquid - essentially it was a 'juicer'. I can't recommend this item to anyone and am now actively looking for one that really works of a a different brand.
BTW, the box it is packed in is really flimsy and the design of the unit is very crude at best. Despite how it looks in the photograph it is made essentially of what looks like pressed tin.

Terrible Product/Worse Customer Service
I ordered this tomato press in good faith that it would work as the advertisement indicated. I used the product one time, severely bruising my forearms trying to hold the item stable and apply enough force to get the press to process the few, cut up tomatoes I had put in the hopper. I contacted Amazon who referred me to the vendor (Kasbahouse.com), to return the product but the company offered to give me a call to discuss how to use the press. Over 30 days later, and still NO CALL. I re-contacted Amazon/Kasbahouse.com to return the item and was promptly informed that if there was not a manufacture's defect I would not get a refund. How am I to know if this is due to a manufacturer's error? If it is not a manufacturer's error, no refund. Guess they really do not stand behind their products. Poor, poor, poor customer service.

Great product, a real time saver for anyone making sauce. Seller shipped it quickly very well built all around a great purchase.

EURO PLUG
Not able to use. Why even sell it in the USA. Can't even use an adapter since it's a 220V and we have 120v in the USA. Would blow out the socket, dumb for sure.. Waste of money. USE BIG LETTERS " EURO PLUG - CANNOT USE IN USA".

Terrible, now I am stuck with a frother I can't even use. Shipping it back to Greece is ridiculous. Doesn't even say it's from Greece. Con job for sure.....
