I love my Bella
I had to adjust the temperature to the spot that made the most delicious waffles. I read the directions. I also use a nonstick spray. After 30 seconds, I flipped the grill. The green light goes out when it is time to do that. Then it comes on, on other side, after flipping, when it is done. I have had no problem with cleaning, and I don't leave any mix on the grill anywhere after I am done using it. It is ready to go next time. Batter directions have to be followed to have the best waffles. Deviations will ruin them. Teflon tongs or forks are best for no scratches on the surface. Not a bad item if you don't mind paying attention to what you are doing, from start to finish.
Much better than expected
After reading all of the reviews I didn't expect much from this waffle maker but decided to try it anyway since I found it locally at a hard to pass up price. It is very easy to use and clean.
I started with the temperature at the halfway point which was almost perfect; I might try to put it up a little next time, but I'd rather err on the side of a little underdone than overdone.
I used my own buttermilk waffle recipe which I will copy below if anyone is interested, and did what one reviewer suggested, I rubbed a stick of butter across the already heated top and bottom grids. I did use a pastry brush to distribute it evenly. I only needed to do this for the first waffle, it was not needed on the rest that I made. I had absolutely no sticking problems like other reviewers had; I can only guess that it may have had to do with the waffle recipe used or maybe the surfaces were not greased enough. With this kind of waffle maker that turns over it is important to...
Works great!
I've been using this waffle maker almost daily for about two months. I LOVE it. Bought it together with a mixer, and it takes me minutes to make fresh, delicious waffles that are tastier and healthier than anything I could get at a restaurant - cheaper, too. I'm planning to buy more of these for family. Most of all I love how quick and easy the process is. The waffle maker works great. Here's the process from start to finish:
1. Mix ingredients together using a handheld mixer. I make enough for a week and keep it in the fridge.
2. plug in the waffle maker. In a minute or so, the green Ready light comes on.
3. Open the waffle maker and grease the surfaces - I just grab a stick of butter and in a very quick motion pass it over the heated surfaces. This is important because otherwise, the waffle will be difficult to extract, as another reviewer noted.
3. Pour in the mix and spread it evenly using a wooden spoon.
4. Close the waffle maker and rotate...
